New H&M Spring 2011 Lookbook

New 60's and 70's inspired looks from H&M's "Glamour" line this Spring/Summer 2011. They've already hit stores and I'm chomping at the bit to go throw down some cash (as soon as I get some that is...sad face). The clothes are a bit pricier than usual but, um hello...they're gorgeous! I am in love with that hot pink, flare skirt dress. It will be mine.

Day 061: Weeee!

Today I walked downstairs dressed and ready for the day. My Mom said, "You look cute!" Which was then followed by, "Except did you forget your pants?" Thanks Mom, their leggings -__-

Today's Outfit:

Obviously I'm learning new and amusing ways to make use of my deck...So, today I wore an all black and navy ensemble. It's one of my favorite color combinations to wear; it has the edginess of all black but with a little added quirk. I wore black leggings, black socks, and a black long-sleeve shirt. On top of this I wore a long, sheer, lace, navy blouse. I belted it with a camel colored leather woven belt and added navy oxfords and red lipstick (duh).

The Breakdown:
  • Blouse: H&M-$10
  • Leggings: Kohl's-$20
  • Oxfords: Forever 21-$12
  • Shirt: Gap-$15
  • Belt: Estate sale-free

Day 060: The Good Days

Today I got to hang out with a couple of good friends which was great. I have severely missed my friends since the semester started and my life has become all homework and little play. So, it has been great using this Spring break as a chance to catch up with the people in my life :)

Today's Outfit:

Today I wore my new vintage red dress with a black lightning bolt looking print on it. One of my finds from my NYC trip :) I loved the pleated bottom, the cinched waist, and the baggy sleeves. Plus, you guys know I love red! I wore this dress with black tights, brown cowboy-esque boots, and a brown leather woven belt.

The Breakdown:
  • Dress: Buffalo Exchange-$14
  • Tights: Urban Outfitters-$18
  • Boots: Delias-$40
  • Belt: Goodwill-$4

Day 059: New York, I Love You

Gah! I love New York so much! I had the opportunity to go this past week with my dear friend Brittanie. We went up there to scope out East Village to see if it was a neighborhood I could see myself living in once I graduate. Verdict: Um, yes please! She had never been to NYC before so we also went to some touristy areas. It was such a fun time so this blog will have some photos from that day in addition to my regular outfit pics :)
My Outfit:

The mood reader in the M&M store in Times Square told me my mood was "Peanut Butter Mix: You may be nutty, but you pull it off very smoothly." Perfect.

My little girl dreams coming true in the American Girl store...

The cutest dang bathroom I've ever seen. There was a doll holder in my bathroom stall! Yes, I took a picture of the inside of my stall...

Ninth Street Espresso...so delicious.

Me and my umbrella all over East Village!

My NYC trip this past week was incredible-vintage shopping, tons of yummy cappuccinos, and one ton of silliness. It also gave me the chance to talk to some locals about the East Village area and get some pointers on making the move up to the Big Apple. If you can even remember what outfit I was wearing after all these pics, I had on a hefty forest green sweater over a terracotta colored cropped top. I also wore some dark grey-ish denim pants and my new (so excited!) Hunter boots. It was so freakin' cold that I wore 3 pairs of socks :D For outerwear I wore my black military-esque coat, olive colored velvet gloves, and a black eternity scarf.

The Breakdown:
  • Sweater: Victoria's Secret-$40
  • Top: H&M-$14
  • Jeans: Express-$25
  • Boots: Nordstrom-$130
  • Coat: H&M-$?
  • Scarf: A gift!
  • Gloves: Vintage Girls shop in Old E.C.-$8

Day 058: Squint

An outfit from sometime this past week :)

Past Outfit:

I couldn't decide whether I liked the blouse tucked in or out as you can see in the pictures above. The sun was super bright when these pictures were taken so it may be kind of difficult to see the purple flowers patterned on the blouse. I love this blouse, not only for the floral pattern, but because it is so delicate. I paired it with my bright purple cords and added my brown boots with pink lipstick. Perfect pre-Spring outfit :)

The Breakdown:
  • Blouse: Ebay-approx. $20
  • Cords: Delias-$30
  • Boots: Delias-$40

Day 057: Un-Walking To The Beat

Today my wittle brother and I went to Rita's for the big Spring opening. Anything free and yummy I am completely down for. We were standing in line freezing our butts off when my brother walked out of line saying it wasn't worth and he'd buy me frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti up the street. Um, again...free? Okay! So we went there and later he took my blog pictures for me outside our house. He kept making me laugh as you can tell in the pics :)

Today's Outfit:

While taking this last picture, after I was holding that pose for a few seconds, my brother says, "Um, are you ready for me to take your picture or are you staring at something on the ground?" Haha! Anyways, today I wore my leopard maxi skirt and a black top with little pictures of radios on it. I added a bubble gum pink belt, brown boots (that seriously need to be retired), and a pendant necklace. Some days I just get bored with whats in my closet. So, today I went to it and decided to pair things together that I've never worn in that combination before. It was fun :)

The Breakdown:
  • Top: H&M-$?
  • Skirt: Goodwill-$5
  • Boots: Alloy-approx. $40
  • Necklace: Ebay-$10
  • Belt: Estate sale-free
  • Jacket: Target-$30

Day 056: The Clouds Have Opened Up

Today's sunshine was such an unexpected treasure. Am I the only one that expected today to be cold and gloomy? I was quite happy to wake up to high 50's today. Yum!

Today's Outfit:

Today I wore a bright yellow blouse with shoulder pads (yay 80's!) and high waisted denim shorts. I found these shorts at the Salvation Army sometime last Fall. They fell at a really awkward place on my leg-somewhere between mid-length shorts and bermudas..gross. So, I chopped them :) With them I wore blue tights and brown lace-up boots. A couple rings and hot pink lipstick (finally got a decent pic of the color) and voila!

The Breakdown:
  • Blouse: Goodwill-$4.50
  • Shorts: Salvation Army-$4
  • Tights: Delias-$10
  • Boots: Urban Outfitters-$40

Day 055: I'm Not That Girl

A little over a week ago I went to NYC to see a show on Broadway called Wicked! I meant to post my outfit from my day trip up there but it was pouring all day long and getting my picture taken in the sloppy, wet, cold outdoors honestly just did not interest me in the slightest. My plan was to recreate the outfit, but then I got sick this past week and now I just feel like too much time has passed. SO, I'm just going to post the couple pics I did take at the end of todays post. Enjoy :)
Yesterday's Outfit:

Yesterday's weather was bee eee aye -utiful! I had been planning all week long to wear a summer dress of sorts. So, I pulled out my Free People floral dress and wore a black leather jacket over it. Added bright pink lipstick, brown leather sandals that have a slight wedge, and my teal zebra print sunnies. Perfect outfit for hanging out with lovely friends, running errands, and babysitting (?).

The Breakdown:
  • Dress: Ebay-$30
  • Sandals: Some random store in the mall-$15
  • Sunnies: Delias-$10
  • Jacket: Target-$30
::NYC::
The view of the stage from my seat. My Dad gave me the ticket as a belated Birthday present. I think he did alright picking the seat :-P

Me in my seat at the Gershwin Theatre right before Wicked started. I was excited =)

Wonderful acting, beautiful, gorgeous voices, outstanding scenery, and a great story. Not to mention before going to the show we went to the Stardust Diner where aspiring Broadway actors are not there only as your waiter, but also as constant live entertainment. Yup, it was a great day :) I <3 New York.

P.S. The blog title of this post is the title of a song from the show Wicked if ya didn't catch that :)
