Day 049: Make Me A Better Love

Still catching up!! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post these. Life has been hectic. Gah! I hate being that person that lives for the weekend! I will spend as much energy as is needed to fight against that feeling.

P.S.-I got really bored having my picture taken in that corner again (as you will see).

Yesterday's Outfit:

I wore a velvet dress with beautiful embroidery work on it over a long sleeve black shirt and black tights. Then I added my brown lace-up boots, fuchsia socks, and a teal scarf. I love those fuchsia socks so much. I'm a little obsessed with them, so I'm sure you'll be seeing them again in the near future.

The Breakdown:
  • Dress: Ebay-approx. $30
  • Shirt: Gap-$15
  • Tights: Urban Outfitters-$18
  • Boots: Urban Outfitters-$40
  • Socks: Target-$10 (pack of 6)
  • Scarf: Victoria's Secret-free with purchase!

Day 048: I Was Just Following My Heart

Still catching up! Oh, and we got kinect for xbox 360 this past week. Can you guess which photos are inspired from the Dance Central game? XD

Past Week's Outfit:

Lately I've been trying to mix patterns in a cohesive way. I'm not sure if I succeeded or not but I tried! I wore a brown striped shirt with a navy polka dot skirt that I pulled up to my waist. I think the proportions would have looked a bit better had the skirt been just a little shorter. I wore this with a black leather jacket, my new pendant necklace, and my brown lace-up boots. I also was trying out a new-ish trend by pulling my socks up out of the boots. And then I just added some tights for warmth. :)

The Breakdown:
  • Shirt: H&M-$?
  • Skirt: Goodwill-$6.50
  • Jacket: Target-$30
  • Tights: Urban Outfitters-$18
  • Boots: Urban Outfitters-$40
  • Socks: Target-$10 (for a pack of 6)
  • Necklace: Ebay-$10

Day 047: Mr. Moon Shines Down On My Home

Catching up!

Past Week's Outfit:

I wore a chunky, forest green sweater over a baggy mustard colored, leaf-printed top. I paired this with my khaki, high-waisted skirt and black tights that are so thick it's as if I was wearing pants (love them!). I added my brown lace-up boots, my huge brown purse, and...my new necklace! I adore it. I got it off Ebay and it opens up and I shall put something awesome in there at some point. Yes.

The Breakdown:
  • Sweater: Victoria's Secret-$40
  • Top: Ebay-approx. $20
  • Skirt: H&M-$7
  • Tights: Urban Outfitters-$18
  • Boots: Urban Outfitters-$40
  • Necklace: Ebay-$10
  • Purse: Target-$20

Day 046: Head Against The Sky

Today I slept in (woot woot!) and went to my favorite coffee shop (The Bean Hollow) with a lovely friend. We walked and talked and window shopped (rhyming?) around Old Ellicott City. Well, I window shopped; she bought a super cute dress that I was jealous of :-P.

Today's Outfit:

Did I see bird poop on the deck or something when the second picture was taken? I dunno...So, today I wore a floral maxi dress. I love this pink-ish, purple-ish dress so much mostly because of the multi-colored, striped straps. I wore it with some brown wedged sandals and wooden earrings. The perfect, comfy outfit for walking around in 70 degree weather all day :)

The Breakdown:
  • Dress: JCPenney-$20
  • Shoes: A random store in the mall-$20
  • Earrings: A gift from Greece :)

Friday, I'm In Love

5 things I'm lovin'...
5. Paper animals! Patterns printed on recycled paper that you fold up to make little critters. They're so cute and would make great decorations!

4. There is something so lux and classy about nude nails.
3. Sandals! As I've said recently, I am very excited for Spring. I just think these are adorable! They come in a bunch of colors and look pretty comfortable.

2. This dress which would literally flatter any figure and comes in a variety of colors!

1. Deckhand Designs is an Etsy store founded by Jesse, a friend from church, who takes broken, unwanted skateboards and turns them into magical belt buckles. You better buy this one before I do!

Day 045: I Can Hear Birds Chirping

Today I woke up and wasn't sure if I was up for a little hike in the woods or not. I pushed myself knowing I'd enjoy it once I got out there and I was so right :) If I could start every morning off that way I would! Being surrounded by nature in bloom, birds chirping, and the sun shining down on me was so peaceful. The beautiful weather didn't hurt either! :)

Today's Outfit:

Today I wore a pretty simple outfit. I was just excited to be wearing a sundress of sorts! The dress I wore was a floral maxi dress which I belted. Then all I did was add some sandals and my sunnys!

The Breakdown:
  • Dress: Goodwill-$6.50
  • Sandals: A random store in the mall-$20
  • Belt: A gift
  • Sunnys: The Zone in B-More-$10

Day 044: New Seasons

Why is it that my favorite seasons also tend to be the times when I get sick? The times of the year when cold changes to hot or vice versa have always been my favorite because you truly appreciate every warm day (or for me every cool, crisp day because I love Fall the most :D). When else in the year do you get really pumped that it's going to be 65 degrees outside? Uhm, never! That's what makes Spring great =)

Yesterday's Outfit:

Yesterday I feel like I looked like the epitome of a college student. It's something about that jacket that does it I think. I wore this army green jacket with grey skinny-cords, a button-up floral shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and some low-top black chucks. I added a red scarf just to bring a little color to the outfit. I figured without some pop of color the outfit would have looked a bit drab.

The Breakdown:
  • Shirt: Estate sale-free
  • Cords: Delias-around $30
  • Shoes: ??
  • Scarf: Old Navy-$10
  • Jacket: Pac Sun-$9 (Yes, I know. It's unreal.)
P.S. I'm sure you saw a little dog in the pictures. Meet Dobey, my extremely unfriendly, however lovable Chihuahua.

Day 043: St. Valentine

Last evening I went to a wonderful Valentine's Day party and got to hang out with some great (and fashionable) friends :) Chocolate, sparkling juices, The Proposal, and stuffed mushrooms--heaven!

My Valentine's Day Look:

I broke out my bright red, frilly dress for this Valentine's Day occasion. I tried to find anything pink and red in my wardrobe and put it together in a non-cheesy way. So...I wore a big bright pink and red flower on my head. Ha! :D I clipped it onto a light pink scarf that I have kept from a dress I wore when I was around 7 years old. I also wore grey tights with black booties and some floral earrings. :)

The Breakdown:
  • Dress: H&M-$30
  • Tights: Delias-??
  • Shoes: Urban Outfitters-$45
  • Earrings: A little shop in India-$??
  • Headband and flower clip-??

Here are some pics from the party! Aren't my friends (Hannah and Janice)stylish? And beautiful, too! :)

Day 042: Coffee Is The Best Accessory

Just a fairly ordinary Sunday filled with church, studying, friends, Target trips, and coffee =) I'm pretty sure perusing Target is one of the most relaxing things that Howard County has to offer (I'm actually serious! Target has cathartic powers!).

Today's Outfit:

With it being 50 degrees today I had to add a little Spring into my outfit. I wore my new mint colored, cropped sweater with some medium-rise black shorts. I added some black tights for warmth, peach colored, feather earrings (you can't really tell how pink they are in that image), and brown lace-up boots. Besides the heels it was actually a very comfortable outfit! Also, I'd like to add that cropped sweaters are always something I want to wear but never do because I'm afraid its going to take away any semblance of a waist. I decided that the sweater would work best if the rest of the garments were more form fitting. I also went with higher-waisted shorts so that my undershirt didn't show too much. I challenge you to go into your wardrobe and find something that you never wear because you don't know how and experiment! Have fun and be creative with your clothes! :)

The Breakdown:

  • Sweater: H&M-$14
  • Shorts: H&M-$25
  • Tights: Urban Outfitters-$18
  • Boots: Urban Outfitters-$40
  • Earrings: Forever 21-$5

Day 041: Like A Boss

Hope everyone's having a blessed weekend! Don't get blown away by the wind like I almost did!

Today's Outfit:

Today I wore an oversized white blouse with some navy and yellow flowers on it. I paired it with my black button-up skirt, black tights, and navy oxfords. Added my magnifying glass necklace and voila! Oh, and I also intermittently wore my teal, zebra patterned sunny's like a boss.

The Breakdown:
  • Blouse: Gucci Goodwill-$4
  • Skirt: H&M-$20
  • Tights: Urban Outfitters-$18
  • Oxfords: Forever 21-$12
  • Necklace: Ebay and my Grandma's house :)
  • Sunnys: Delias-Approx. $10

Five on Friday

5. I am lovin' hot pink lipstick and can't wait for spring when I can wear it! Thank you Nikki Minaj...

4. Animal rings! Birds! Bees! Kittens! Galore!

3. The Civil Wars-Falling. Great song. Amazing harmony.

2. I...cannot...wait...for summerdress season. Picture it...picnics in the park, outdoor concerts, drive-in movie theaters. Mmmm, I can't wait. Also, can you please picture this dress being worn with the above hot pink lipstick. Perfection.

1. Because I wish I had some right now...
